More Boxers Than Ever Being Dumped at Shelters After the Holidays

An increase in owner surrendering at shelters is bringing more death sentences to Boxers and by no fault of their own. Our foster homes are at max capacity. Without new foster homes, these sweet dogs will die this week.

Unfortunately, after the holidays there has been an increase in urgent situations for boxers at high-kill county shelters. Many are being willingly surrendered to the counties by their owners through no fault of their own! Boxers that have been surrendered by their owners are the FIRST to die, because there is no waiting period for anyone to claim them. Therefore, there are so many sweet, loving, abandoned, and confused boxers that will die, some possibly today. Some of these county shelters mentioned below are high-kill shelters that use awful gas chambers to euthanize unwanted animals. No dog deserves to be uprooted from their home and killed in a chamber.

If there's any hope these sweet souls have for life, we need more of you to open your hearts and homes if at all possible.

See the faces of those needing rescue below. These dogs are all in URGENT need RIGHT NOW. Please take a moment to read about each boxer. They just need someone to give them a chance!

Medical Spotlight

Hero

Hero is our little Parvo puppy. He has taken a bit of a down-turn, which is disheartening, but this can be typical for a puppy with Parvo. His white blood cell count took a nose dive to .35 (the low end of the reference range starts at 5.5), and he had to receive a plasma transfusion today. It breaks your heart to see such a kind little soul go through what he is facing right now. He does seem to be a fighter, though, and we have faith in the little guy pulling through!

His medical bills will be upwards of $1000.00 or more to save his life. We have a foster home arranged for Hero, but we need your help in donations to pay for and continue his treatment.

Update on Titan

Thanks to your donations, Titan is scheduled for his neurological work-up next week! However, we still need donations to help cover the cost of his upcoming leg surgery. Titan is showing overall improvement in his energy level and the way he feels, but still has a long way to go. He still has trouble walking in a stable manner and cannot play for too long without his leg being sore for the next few days - a problem that can only worsen until he gets his surgery. Of course, he still takes every opportunity to snuggle and climb into any available lap he can find. He's a true joy!
