Need Help with Vet Bills
Liam fought hard, but sadly didn't pull through...
We are sorry to say that Liam has passed away. After his surgery, his body started to decline again, and it was decided by his doctors that his body just wasn't strong enough to endure another surgery. For the hundreds we save, there are some that have simply been neglected for too long to recover.
Please help us pay Liam's vet bills so that we can give other lives a chance. Our sincerest thanks to those who have donated so far.

Ruby Lost Her Home...
Ruby has sadly once again lost her home. About two years ago, Ruby was returned to BRBR after having issues with the female Boxer who lived with her in her first BRBR home. Ruby then went to boarding for what seemed to be an eternity and eventually made her way into a foster home with no dogs. She then found her home where she lived with her dad for the past two years. Ruby has yet again, in her short lifetime, found herself homeless. Her dad has been put into a nursing home, and his skin children cannot take Ruby into their home. Ruby has landed into boarding again, and this is heartbreaking! She must be so confused with her dad being suddenly gone from her. Now she is in a kennel alone because BRBR has no open foster homes along with the fact that she needs to be an only dog and our BRBR foster homes have multiple dogs.
If you are thinking of fostering and have no dogs please, consider Ruby! If you are considering adopting a Boxer and only have room for one in your life, Ruby would be forever grateful and so would we all here at BRBR!
More About Ruby...
A BIG BOXER Thank You!!!
Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue wants to thank all of our volunteers, adoptive homes and supporters for the huge response to last month's newsletter! At the beginning of last month we decided to do a last-minute email blast featuring the many shelter dogs that needed BRBR's help to save their lives.
We are ever so glad that we decided to turn the newsletter's attention to these dogs! We received over 200 emails in two days from people willing to help transport the Boxers in need, from former adopters wanting to foster for us, and kind donors wanting to contribute boarding funds to get these Boxers to safety until BRBR could work them into foster homes. The generosity of all of the Boxer-lovers who reached out to us is so appreciated! To all of you who opened up your cars for transporting, your homes for fostering, your wallets for donations, BRBR is humbled and grateful for all that you all did for the love of this wonderful breed and for believing that all dogs deserve a chance!
In the month of January, BRBR saved 41 Boxers lives! We could not have done this without all of you who support our efforts for this most awesome breed! It is so sad that so many people can turn their backs on these Boxers and so wonderful that so many of us come together for these Boxers - 41 saved lives who will go on to bless many lucky families, and some of the 41 have already found forever homes. There is no better feeling than helping a family find the Boxer of their dreams!
Thank you all! Please know, though, that as many Boxers as there were last month in need that there are just as many this month. We still need transporters, foster homes and donations in order to provide vet care for all of the dogs in BRBR's huge family! Thank you for making our start to 2010 a record setting one. We hope February, the month of love, will also be a good one for BRBR's Boxers. Please consider fostering or adopting a BRBR Boxer, and rest assured that you will receive much Boxer love in return!
Thank you,
Sonya Hutson
