UPDATE: 4-8-08
Hey everybody guess what …. I got my stitches out today! I am healing nicely and just started to put a little weight on my leg last Thursday. I still have a few more weeks on restriction but then I can start to play! I want to run so bad but I know I have to be still until leg heals. You just don’t know how excited that makes me to think about running and boxing again. I am so tired of this leash all the time that I try to bite it when we go outside to potty. I am working on that though because my foster mom told me it’s not a nice thing for such a sweet girl like me to do but I just want to run and play with the other dogs. Once we do start walking I walk like a lady on my leash and listen to corrections very well.
Oh and guess what else… I made a new best friend here with my crabby foster brother. He doesn’t like ANYBODY but I am so nice and cute I don’t know who could resist being my friend. We even share chewies and treats with out a problem and every night we cuddle when it’s time for bed. When he does get an attitude I just ignore him or run and hide behind my foster mom. I don’t have time for that nonsense! We had a Birthday party for him this week and I got frosty paws ice cream and a bully stick. Can I have a birthday party when you take me home? Please?
I have to go back to the vet in two weeks to make sure everything is healing properly and then I will be ready for my forever family! I love everyone I meet and promise to be your best friend. Please tell the people at BRBR you want to meet me. See you at the Nub & Grub! Ask for me... I am the cute redhead with freckles!
Paws and Kisses, Kija
Meet Kija...She is approx 8 months old and was surrendered to BRBR because she needs ACL surgery on her right hind leg. Kija is at one of our local vets (Cabarrus Animal Hospital). Please help us pay for her surgery. It will cost us approx 1000.00-1200.00 for her sugery. She is a great girl and wil be a wonderful friend for a new family once her surgery is complete. We will update as soon as she gets to her new foster home this week after surgery!
UPDATE: 3-24-08
My name is Kija and I am a petite and gentle little girl. I am about 8 months old and weigh 38 pounds. I have the cutest freckles on my nose. I was told freckles are Angel Kisses and they make me extra cute! I've had a pretty rough week but I am happy now to be in my foster home. You see my family loved me but I needed an expensive surgery to repair my leg so they asked the nice people at BRBR to help me. The people at the vet's office kept saying something about an ACL repair and getting spayed and the next thing you know I wake up with stitches
in my leg and on my belly. OUCH!!! But I am still a very happy girl and my tail (yes I have my full tail) wags and wags all the time! I
also like to give kisses. So far I love the female dog in my foster home. I sniffed her through the baby gate and I gave her kisses too. My foster mom says we can meet later and play when I am all healed. Until then I get to rest on my big fluffy pillow and lick peanut butter out of my Kong. I really like to cuddle and want you to be next to me. I rest easier with my head on your lap.
Well I've had a really long day and I am quite sleepy so I'll update you later this week after I get a chance to sniff this place out.
Paws & Kisses, Kija
